Douglas Sutherland is a guy who tries to have his heart in the right place but usually doesn't.
Douglas Sutherland is the son of Brock Sutherland and Kaitlyn Montgomery. Kaitlyn died due to injuries sustained in a car accident, giving birth to Douglas just before she died. Douglas never knew his own mother and became very attached to his father. Douglas and Brock share a very close relationship.
Douglas never liked Brenna from the time he first met her even though he was only two years old. He constantly fought her even though Brock tried to teach him otherwise. When the twins were born, Douglas became protective over them. Douglas and Pamela became close friends and while Douglas shares a relationship with Bethany, they have never been close. He was happy when Brenna and Douglas divorced because he had never trusted Brenna. However, Douglas loved Juliana from the very start.
Douglas loved Juliana because she instantly loved him. She didn't care who his mother had been, only about him for who he was. Douglas feels very close to Juliana and he even calls her Mom.
Douglas went to college and became a professional photographer. He works freelance but occasionally takes steady jobs with ad agencies or newspapers.
